Getting back into the blogging routine. Picasa is a jiffy at uploading photos, I just need to figure out how to format them in my posts.
Trekathalon resumes this week. Exactly one persons (me) are looking forward to this, but Trek is back up on Netflix on demand! I also kinda missed it.
More in-progress toy painting and customizing posts, and hopefully, a store where I can sell you my custom toys! Imagine that! Commerce on the Internet! Can it work?

Need a New Name
The Man Purse needs a new name.
For one, my real Man Purse is wearing out, and I'm unlikely to replace it (what gives, J-Fold? No more leather messengers?).
Second, Man-anything has accumulated irritating bro-culture/advertising connotations (you can't be a Man! unless all your products say Man!).
Third, I may be trying to use this site to sell things, and I'd want the name to match my future, hypothetical, business.
Unfortunately Nerdpuddle.com is already taken. Suggestions?

Blogkeeping: 5/13/2011
Looks like my laziness pays off, as I had nothing new that would have been struck down by Blogger's little disaster. Otherwise, Trekathalon has moved to indefinite hiatus. There's a bunch of stuff in my Netflix que that is disc-only, and at this rate, I'll never get to it.
More customs up soon.

Things I have been doing that are not blogging:- Picking a fight with clinical depression, and losing.
- Having fun with my new airbrush (see picture at left).
- Put a pair of shoes that I love, but don't fit, on ebay.

Blogkeeping Tuesday March 29: Airbrush day!
My Airbrush kit arrived. I ordered it from a place in North Carolina. The airbrush itself? And Iwata Eclipse. Their US arm? Here in Portland, OR. It's a funny world. Now nothing in my possession is safe from a thorough airbrushing! It is going to be a learning curve though.
I'm spinning my wheels on new Trekathalon entries, it will return, eventually...
The light rig sale did not go so well. I should know better then to trust my heart on ebay.
Oh well, perseverance! It's tough to keep the clinical depression at bay without it.

Tuesday March 15 - Blog Ennui, and a minor victory!
Oh no, I'm suffering from blog ennui!
New trekathlon posts? Meh. (they're coming)
Dead Presidents announced the winners of their Monster Kolor Neo-Hawaii contest. Who's that little red lump on the far right? Why it's my shabbily painted Eyezon! There must not have been enough entries, completely undeserved, but appreciated!

Blogkeeping: Wednesday March 2
I have a terrible cold. If anyone would like it, feel free to ask in the comments.
Due to said cold, the last few episodes of Trekathalon, season 1 will be delayed, because coherence is difficult right now.

This week is going by a little to fast.
- My Mom had minor surgery this week, so my over-excited 'Devil in the Dark' post will be up tomorrow.
- ToyFair 2011 tempts with plastic delights. LEGO, in particular, wants me to be forever broke and sad.
- I want to jump on this Neo - M.U.S.C.L.E.s bandwagon.
- Other sources for episodic 'Trek commentary: Keckler's great Television Without Pity Recaps.
Another favorite is James Lileks. He's Bleated about Trek often. I'm still looking forward to the Perry Mason/Star Trek page.

Sorry, slight emergency yesterday, new Trekathalon is below.
I marked the Packer's Superbowl win by watching Giant Spider Invasion (and Monster a Go-Go). I wasn't the only one: http://www.mst3kinfo.com/?p=8745

Roundup - Friday Febuary 4
Well, the nothing happened very quickly this week. I'm sorry for that. Lets shoot for Monday on Trekathalon?
And I bet you were asking yourself if I have a pimple in my nose. Well I have a pimple in my nose, and it hurts. IN MY NOSE folks.
I am also sorry you read that.

Roundup - Monday January 31st
While I fail again to keep the Trekathalon updated, please enjoy The Visible Gamera and Foes, courtesy of Pink Tentacle. I could lose an hour or two to that site.
Trekathlon resumes tomorrow. Have a few toy reviews to post as well, and a new sploot of items for ebay.
Thanks for reading!
-Seth

Week of Dec 20, 2010 - My butt smells like flowers
- Trekathalon is on Hiatus again, I watched a bunch of episodes out of order, and OCD compels me to go back and do it properly.
- Should have my opinions of RealD 3D up soon, know you all were holding your breath for that.
- I bought some
FebreezeGlade Fabric Refresher to take the stink out of my hand-me-down office chair, and now my cube, and my person, smell like the cheapest perfume imaginable. Spring Breeze apparently equals "Watermelon Jolly Ranchers dissolved in bleach." - I really miss Original Scent Febreeze.
- Should have some more project and travel pictures up this week as well.

Trek? Trek! Toys? Toys!
Trekathalon resumes today, I had a hard time getting the exact right screengrab for the second half of The Menagerie. It doesn't really matter, but it was enough to completely derail my efforts.
Work has also been incredibly busy, but yay, I still have a job!
Despite being rather broke, I still spend money. And on completely useless things! Like these lovely customs from Onell Design:

Momentum Loss
It's been a dark winter in my corner of the pacific northwest, and inertia builds up fast. Our Winter Death Blast 2010 didn't materialize, it's just our usual damp and cold. You would think I would be used to it after 29 years.
The nights seem darker somehow. The road swallows light like a black hole, reflections look greasy and mean. The night is malevolent, and I simply want to stay in bed.
Trekathalon resumes soon.

Man or Astro-Man? is going to play the Doug Fir Lounge in Portland... I may cry. So beautiful...
Thanks to 16bit.com for the tip, more West Coast tour dates here.
Now The Epoxies just need to get back together, and everything is golden.
Trekathalon resumes next week, sorry about that, things got really busy at work.

Monday odds and ends
| Dishwater, Despair, Disappointment... |
- Mini is doing it's best not to tempt me away from my 2006 Cooper S, the Countryman configurator went up, and it's glitchy. The car itself appears expensive and dull.
- Remember when The Amazing Race was still amazing? It's been a while, I'll admit. Reality Blurred mirrors my feelings on last night's episode: Clue-Eating Goat Most Endearing Part of Race. Can we start a petition to ban awful dating couples from future races? Also, I miss the old Television Without Pity.
- Trekathalon should commence tonight. I know you were all really missing it.

Oops!
Brief hiatus to the Trekathalon, as I wait on the next disc from Netflix, and haven't had time to watch an episode on IMDB.
To busy to watch TV on the internet?! Unpossible!

Trekathalon TOS: Introduction
![]() |
| RUINED FOREVER! |
This was prompted by an increasing disappointment with my Netflix selections, and the realization that, while I've seen most every episode of Star Trek, I don't actually remember them.
Odds are I'm the gazillionth nerd to blog a Star Trek re-watch, but I'm not going to be deterred (I consider it a geeky rite of passage). I plan to follow a format similar to Scott Hamilton's 100 Movies, 100 Days features. Id est, nothing too in-depth, and more focused on impressions then anything comprehensive.
Netflix only stocks the HD remake of the original series, so expect much griping about poor CG as we forge ahead!

Fun with Templates!
Having a wonderful time playing around with the Blogger template designer. So many creative people have contributed such nifty stuff. What do you all think of the new Science! background?
I'm asking a question, as if I have a readers. Ha ha ha, Delusional!
Edit: Replaced a stock Google picture with one of my own. A nuclear jet engine prototype parked outside EBR-1 in central Idaho.
Nuclear. Jet. Engine. Science doesn't get much madder.

PURGE!
Purged the blog today. None of it was good.
So what now? Reviews! Science proves the Internet needs more review and commentary on irrelevant things! It's a fact!
